Hello, I’m Jay Snyder; a proud Nampa resident since 1982, experienced business leader, and passionate advocate for our city’s future.

For over four decades, Nampa has been not just my home, but the heart of my professional and community life. My journey here began with a simple desire to build a good life for my family, and it has grown into a lifelong commitment to helping Nampa thrive.

Professional Experience Rooted in Results

Currently, I serve as Operations Manager for Heartwood Tree Care Company, where I help grow a local business that values hard work and integrity. Throughout my career, I’ve taken on diverse leadership roles, from construction and project management to real estate, small business ownership, and financial advising.

Some highlights from my professional journey include:

• Project Manager & Business Development Manager at Prefab Logic in Nampa

• Manager of the Downtown Nampa Community Association—where, as a city employee, I helped establish the Downtown nonprofit that continues to make a positive impact

• Director of Projects for IT consulting firm CRI Advantage

• Owner of PennWestern, my own residential remodeling and real estate company

• Owner of Creative Glass & Mirror, a custom mirror and glass manufacturing business

Each of these roles has taught me the value of teamwork, listening, and building solutions that work for everyone.

Deeply Engaged in Nampa’s Community Life

Nampa is more than a place to live, it's a community I love to serve. I’m honored to currently chair the Nampa Auditorium District Board and to be active in the Old Nampa Neighborhood Working Group. I’m a graduate of both the Nampa Police Citizens Academy and Leadership Nampa Academy, and a founding member of the Old Coots Advice Parlor; a fun and friendly presence at Downtown Nampa’s Third Thursday events.

Giving back has always been a priority for me. In the past, I’ve served as President of the Nampa Kiwanis Club and contributed to a variety of civic initiatives that strengthen our neighborhoods.

Family & Faith

My wife, Jeneé, and I recently celebrated 42 wonderful years of marriage. We are blessed with two grown children; our daughter Patricia (married to Sam) and son Brandon (married to Tina), and we love spending time with our three energetic grandsons. For the past decade, our family has been active members of Christ the Redeemer Anglican Church here in Nampa.

Why I’m Running

I believe that strong communities are built on trust, transparency, and teamwork. I’m running for Nampa City Council to ensure our city remains a great place to live, work, and raise a family. Together, we can keep Nampa growing in the right direction; honoring our past while building a bright future for everyone.
